One of my friends also applied after waiting about 8-10 months. She filed her green card application in November 2024 and received her green card in early March 2025. So it seems like people get approved faster if they wait around a year after being granted asylum before applying. As for me, I had my green card interview this past Tuesday. I won my asylum case in court in June 2024 and applied for my green card in August 2024. USCIS sent me a request for medicals (RFE) in January, and I responded in April. I also filed a Form I-730 for my wife, who is here in the U.S. with me. We had a joint interview - both of us were interviewed at the same time, in the same room, by the same officer.

@Qa khan first she asked about five questions to my wife about the address, my birthday, how we met and nothing crazy and ask her to sign in the end of form and write her name in native language, then she asked me question on my 485 form , just about 5-8 questions, address, name, and some random stuff like have I ever been denied a visa to USA , if I have ever committed a crime or worked in a prostitution, or made money out of prostitution 😆 and then ask me to sign.

@Qa khan the interview was about 10 minute maximum, most of the time just she was doing her stuff, she also asked us if we would like to give her any other documents and we gave her our photo album of nine years of our relationship relationships, shared insurance and bills and she was like wow that’s great, then she said that they will try to wrap everything up by the end of the day for approval, but I don’t see anything online, but to be honest, I didn’t even see online update about the interview on USCIS so I feel like it’s been approved so if I will receive the letter or green card, I’ll make a post here in the lawfully
