yes, I applied it already and I got the receipt from USCIS and they are being reviewed it. I just afraid I have trouble with the immigration when I have to go to another state by plane

also when you apply for green card… you are called ‘under status’ so if the visa expires while the Green card is being sorted.. you haven’t overstayed

once you've overstayed in the u.s your visa is no longer good to travel in an out the u.s unless you're issue with new traveling documents by the u.s authorities that's form i.131 and so on.when approved the will send you a card with all of your information. whenever you are traveling true c.b p in an out the u.s

wherever you go in the us , domestic flight yiu can even use your passport as long as it’s not expired

you Are NOT reading properly SHE HAS OVERSTAYED HER B2 VISA, which means she can be deported regardless of whether she is married to a US citizen or not!! GOOGLE IT .when she files for her i-485 she needs to carry that receipt around with her to prove she has filed her paperwork!!! her passport will show an expired B2 visa . stop putting false information on here . people like you cause problems by putting misinformation out there. and FYI I have been stopped by an ICE agent while traveling and luckly I could PROVE I filed my i-485.

@sky Blue … even the law will tell you to carry your green card wherever you go … are u doing so ? having a pending application don’t make you illegal in US sir ! ICE just need your ID/ passport to find out if your legal or not .. for domestic flight you just need a valid passport ( go check ) since you might not have a valid driver license or ID cause of pending application. thanks

as long as you stay in US but it’s not a bad idea to carry receipt it’s most secured but not required . by the way for domestic flight you don’t even have to deal with border officer

There’s a little bits of truth in what both are saying. I overstayed my visa when I came to this country, even without marriage, I still traveled within the country with my expired visa but unexpired passport. Of course, you can’t do this during Trump’s time. I did that when Obama was the president. During Trumps time, ICE was given the power to arrest and deport, if you have overstayed and you don’t have a pending application with USCIS. But now, ICE dont have such power anymore, so no need to carry papers around because of ICE. ICE can’t stop any domestic traveler except if they suspect you of an initial crime.
