green card
for those who have the 2 year greencard and plan on becoming a US citizen, when the greencard is 90 days away from expiring do you need to renew it or can you apply for citizenship since the wait time is similar etc? it’s 3 years to become a US citizen if married right?

Send in your 751 immediately. then mail citizenship exactly one year from today, regardless of 751’s status.

your 2 year green card doesn’t get you to citizenship application if you do the math. above post is right. @Jacob Needham

@Jacob Needham read the link I posted. it will help you with the l751 which will lift your 2 year GC condition, and allow you a path to citizenship within 3 years.

@K 🇺🇸 D 🇭🇳 so if I read it correctly if we have our interview after being married longer then 2 years I wont be on a condition based green card but a 10 year greencard?

correct- it will automatically go to 10 year. Probably the only benefit of waiting. And you can apply for citizenship after 3 years.
