GC interview experience
On June 11 2025 my husband and I went to Philadelphia USCIS center where we had our 12:50 p.m. appointment. We arrived an hour head of time because we live 3 hours away. At 1:15 p.m. we were called to the officer / interviewer office. The female that interviewed us had a very serious face but a pleasant personality. The first thing she did was the oath, took my fingerprint and a photo of me. She then asked me for any new evidence that I had (which was the updated version of everything that I've initially submitted). She confirmed with my husband that he was once married, she asked me when I moved in with my husband, she asked if we live and work at the same place, she asked if I knew my SSN (which I didn't and I explained to her why), she asked me for my state ID and she looked very concerned that I didn't have one, then we went through the i485 questions (yes & no questions). After that she typed on her computer for a bit, she then said "okay that's it; you should be seeing your card in your mail 2 to 3 weeks if all looks good after reviewing your documents". [Which actually blow my mind; that it was so simple, easy and straightforward, I was ready for the interrogation as I've heard the stories about.] After she stated that we had a small talk about the next steps and me changing my name. My advice is walk with all the documents that you think you need, they will pick out what is relevant and what's not, Even if you think it's irrelevant take it either way because it won't hurt. Be polite, punctual, keep calm, and don't be afraid to ask question at the end of your interview. Good luck to everyone!!

Hey Toni, quick question — after your biometrics, did your case go to ‘Interview Scheduled’ before moving to Step 4? Mine jumped straight to Step 4 (Decision) and skipped the interview step (3), so I’m not sure if I’ll have one or not. Do you know what that means?

@K. F. according to my lawyer everyone is getting an interview even kids sponsoring parents so and if your getting a conditional greencard definitely getting one

@K. F. it skipped step 3 initially but in April it corrected itself and sent me the interview notice 2 weeks after the changes. It mean that they are considering waving your interview. I hope they do wave it, because Donald Trump stated that no interviews should be waived going forward

Woohoo!!! congratulations!! best advice is to keep gathering all the evidence of bona fide marriage so you are prepared for 751 filing in the future (if needed)
