GC approved while date is not current!!!!
My EB-based I-485 was filed in 2022 when the priority date was current. The primary applicant was approved, but as a derivative applicant I received an RFE. We responded, but by then visa numbers were unavailable, so the case stayed pending. Later, my LPR spouse filed an I-130 (F2A) and when the Final Action Date became current in Oct 2025, I filed a new I-485 under F2A. I had the F2A interview last week, which went well. However, yesterday my old EB I-485 showed “New Card Is Being Produced,” and today it says “Case Approved,” even though my EB priority date is not currently current. How can an EB I-485 be approved when the priority date is not current, especially while another I-485 under F2A is pending after interview?
