@ruth okwaji no update yet on the i-485, I didn't submit medical so that would be addressed first

@Leo Lance yes I filled for ead renewal based on pending i-485 6 months before it expired. It took 5 months to get the 5 years ead card expires 2029

@b s, had i-485, held the i-485 in abeyance when I filled for 1-360, got new i-485 receipt from USCIS at the time I remember

Thanks everyone, it takes a lot of patience and anxiety while doing Vawa, but we would not despair, immigrants are the most preserving and courageous people I know who face hurdles upon hurdles because of immigration, but that makes us unique because if we could go through this kind of immigration stress for yrs and yrs what other problems can't we face. My point is we have developed the endurance all we need is to never give up on ourselves and always have faith!

@idk 🙂 🥱 I filled for vawa after the divorce. According to the USCIS guidelines you are welcome to check their website, the law says Vawa is a self-petition and you can't get married before it is approved or else case would be cancelled. But as soon as the soon as the self-petition i-360 is approved you can get married, it doesn't matter if I had an adjustment pending or not, that law was only for the pending i-360 which was now approved. Best case scenario always be informed by asking your lawyer.

@b s abeyance means on hold, it means do not continue processing the i-485 until you had a basis which would have been the i-130 but because you filled i-360 petition the vawa would now be the new basis. USCIS can't continue to process the i-485 and would keep it on hold until you get approved for i-360 vawa. But always ask your lawyer to stay informed. I found Brad show live to be very helpful as well, on his show you get scenario after scenario on cases related to your case or not related, you actually learn a little about Us immigration law.

@Bekind 2eachother i appreciate it your answer but i actually know all those and brad is a great show but my vawa is January 2021 and not approved yet i got no lawyer unfortunately and they held my I 485 also so im curios how they will process your held 485 because hope after my 360 approved i can know the steps because very similar to yours

@b s I hope you get approved soon, you are due for approval. You have options for online inquiry, congressman inquiry if you want,or threat to file mandamus. I would keep update about the i-485.
