From Consular to AOS
Hello! I was finally approved. Sharing my timeline with more information. I’m from Honduras. I have been here since 1994. I’m a daca recipient. I started with consular because I didn’t have a legal entry. I was continuing with consular out of fear to do AP. I finally lost that fear when my grandpa became ill. After I returned from that trip I was able to file AOS. I interviewed on June 11 at the Houston FO. It was a short interview. I have been married since 2012 and I had an approved I-130 from 2019. It took 106 days from my case being received to me being approved. I didn’t have to go in for biometrics since I have DACA. The 601-A waiver took three years to approve. I filed all documents and forms myself, except the I-130. Good luck everyone! Now I wait for my card in the mail. p.s.I lost a lot of money with continuing consult but it’s a lesson learned. I should’ve lost the fear and done AP sooner.

I-601-A waiver is different from the I-601. They used to talk 6-8 months but then covid happened and it back logged it to 37-44 months for an approval.

@cihan erayabakan Hello! As stated above. I have DACA. I was able to ask for Advance Parole through DACA. Once I came back from visiting my country, it gave me legal entry. I didn’t need to continue the I-601A process. I ditched Consular and was able to switch to AOS. I would still be waiting on my interview at the Honduran embassy had I not done AP.
