Finally greened! Today is my day.
Didn't expect this as Boston is very slow. Without RFE, I sent my medical. PD is always current since applied to approved. #Boston FO

Congratulations! Were you notified of the transfer to the Boston FO?
Jay KMay 23, 2023
any field offices is electronic transfer from mostly NBC Service Center and will NOT be notified. You can only find through the Emma agent
Jay KMay 23, 2023
I randomly checked with couple of Emma agents to make sure it is with Boston FO, then I sent my i693 just a month back.

congrats! how do you know yours was transferred from NBC to NSC and then back?
Jay KMay 24, 2023
since it is transfer between two service centers, I had received the transfer notices from USCiS.
Jay KMay 24, 2023
my i140 approved by NSC and they messed up my actual PD. My attorney created SR to be corrected. meanwhile i have filed i485 with NBC and looks like NBC might need confirmation from NSC on my PD, hence I was assuming NBC transferred to NSC

I heard that transfering to NBC usually means getting to be scheduled for an interview..is that correct? did you have to give an interview?
Jay KMay 28, 2023
No. NBC is a gaint hub, which preprocess (background checks, they even transfers the case to other service centers for any clarifications) the applications and send to FO for the decision (electronic upload of all your docs to FO). FO is the decision maker for most 485 except some cases. NBC makes the job easy for FO for quick decisions, however some FO has more backlogs and in that case, your case will stuck in FO for some time). Sometimes one FO can transfer to another FO, depends on their workload.
Sometimes, NBC directly waive the interview and takes the decision to approve or deny, however that is case by case and decision will be out sooner in that case, probably with in 3 to 4months. I heard they will do mostly on humanitarian based cases ? not sure as I can't profile those.

@Jay k I have a few questions that you might be able to help me with. first all, Congratulations on your approval 👏
here are my few questions
1. what was your actual Status before you file I-485?
2. Can I request a waiver from USCIS to file my I-485 without leaving the US?
By the way, I have bachelor degree and I have a company that is sponsoring me for a green card on a EB visa. I entered the country on a tourist visa and I was supposed to leave the US October 2021 but a few months before my prior there was a TPS announcement for my country so I I got the TPS which allows me to stay and work in the country. I applied for TPS August 2021 and I got approved July 2022. But during that period the green process was going on. Just last month the perm certification got approved fro. Department of labor. now my lawyer is about to file i-140 as mentioned on USCIS website for categories EB visas both form I-140 and I-485 can be filed concurrently. He told me I will not be permitted to change status within the United States unless I exit the country and reenter because immigration will consider the period my TPS was filed and got approved out of status. I mentioned @Jay k because your case is similar to mine but if any of you is knowledgeable about it please I'd like for you to educate me. thanks in advance.
Jay KJun 18, 2023
hi @nadia, you can easily guess based on my PD. no other country citizens wait for 3800 days + to file for 485 and another 6 months min to get the GC.
Jay KJun 18, 2023
hi @anduy f, thank you. #1 emp based non immigrant. #2 I'm not sure how GC process works for TPS. Probably I'm not the right person. However, during my i140 stage, my attorney suggested to be un US, but that is not really required for non immigrant temp workers as we will have valid work visa.
