congratulations!!! I’m the same timeline. filed March 2021. Vawa approved last year. I got my biometrics last month for I-485 but they didn’t request for RFE. hopefully I’ll just get the approval! ❤️

congratulations @GIA GIA I've a very similar timeline: April 2021 - filing date June 2024 - i-360 Vawa approved Aug 2024 - I-485 RFE birth+medicals Sep 2024 - i-485 response to RFE was received No update since then.

@GIA GIA I submitted my original birth certificate again, a birth certificate from my embassy, 2x affidavits from my parents and relatives who were present at birth, 2x high school board and senior board certificates, 2x national id documents from my country showing birth date and parents name, photos of me as a kid and my parents together. Hoping for the best !

@peacelove freedom …Then you should be good and all set …just wait for them to update you …You should knw that everyone’s case is different and also there’s different time frame to certain RFEs …sometimes they might be doing their confirmation and just waiting to hear back from respective source …You got it already !

@GIA GIA did you interview for your greencard? and how long does it take to receive a green card in hand after approval?

@crim son …I did not interview and I got an RFE for my I-485 for birth cert. and medical ..I submitted those one a week after I received the RFE and 33 days after that I got an approval notice …2 days after that I got the “ card is being mailed “ notice …so line was about a week after I-485 approval.

and 2 days after that , card arrived .

why some peoples case take long can be for many reasons …biometrics and thumb print verification …they do run allies finger prints and biometrics to see if one isn’t a criminal , terrorist etc. , if you submit a document they need to investigate , they ll investigate till they are clear of what they want to know …things like that makes some case take long then you lll be wondering why your case taking long while the person you have the same PD with had gotten their case study ,it can also depend on the center where you case is being processed…my vawa took 3 years and some change. before I finally got approved this month. but after that …my I-485 which has been printing for 3 years took only about a month for final approval .

@GIA GIA thank you, for me after they received an RFE which is a medical exam after 1 month they called me for interview this December

@crim son Good …the interview is not always so big a deal …it’s probably they just want proper clarification on a certain thing or things …they can’t even ask you about the abuse in the interview …the law prohibits that …so you’re good by God’s grace.
