Those who are going to file the i751 based on marriage, please don't take lightly and send only current year of documents. Try to include as much as which will convince office to approve based on relation and shared responsibility documents.

Divorce:Green Card:I-751 Waiver
Hello
My spouse (USC) and I were married for almost 3.5 years I have a conditional GC for over 2 years we filed joint I-751.
Now we’re divorced after we filled jointly I-751 in this September.
What are the chances that my GC application still gonna get approved?

@pradip patel warm congratulations on your green card approval. I am also going to file form I-751 on my green card in April 2026. I haven't collecred the documents yet and I'm concerned because my husband and I do not have a joint bank account but we are authorized users on each others bank accounts. do I still need to make a joint account?please I really need your help 🙏
pradip patelDec 18, 2025
@Shee ja that's good question, I think you should have good attorney to defend the case. My friend had the same thing, they were mutually separated and filled the divorce in court. Then his attorney had filled i751 without his spouse, but still got 10 years green card and got his citizenship.

@mac s no interview for I751 in my case. Try to submit as much as evidence with application to avoid interview.

@Jessica Lama That's great question. Authorized users shows only in confirmation page. But you can't prove whether you or he has made the purchase in the statements. Joint account proves both names in each month so it does have great impact.
