Congrts! So your I-130 was approved before the interview?

@Adam Yes, I actually had an I-140 with NIW going on at the time. We submitted the I-130 and asked the basis of I-485 to be moved from I-140 to I-130. The I-130 was approved while there was no answer on our request for changing basis for 10 months. at that point, they denied that I-485 and I had to resubmit a new I-485 based on already approved I-130.
So changing basis is not realistic these days, gotta spend money and apply with a new I-485
