I want to thank everyone in here. all your experiences and questions helped me go thru this long wait. I finally heard an answer back after a long wait. and my only lawyer was your experiences to be honest. I was very frustrated. it’s so easy to freak out especially when it’s your future on the line. but good things come eventually, just have all your documents ready and expect the best. each case is different but they all have one thing in common! best of luck dears!

honestly not that long when you think about it and compared to others, but just living in the unknown is frustrating enough and makes the wait seem long

so I applied in September 8, I was an F1 student and we have been married for less than a year. didn’t hear anything until September 30, they said that they received my application ect... on December 15 I got my RFE for not sending the i944 since the rule was lifted for a little bit. I was very upset because I was a student and didn’t have income besides my wife’s. i also was very scared because I have sent an album with our pictures but they sent it back because it was too big for a file and they haven’t even seen it. i send an answer for the RFE on January 12 , and I get my fingerprints taken on December 17! Case moves to ready to being scheduled on January 29 then just a wait after that! i get my work and travel authorization on 16 February 2021 and then my interview gets scheduled for April 15th. interview went pretty well my wife was the one asked a lot of questions. the guy was super nice. we are also very young she is only 20 and I’m 21! I got approved for i-130 the following day and i just got an approval for the i-145 a few days ago.
i don’t have a lawyer and honestly if your case is straight and there’s nothing weird you don’t need one either keep the money to you. it’s easy to file by yourself. I just used google and did my research if I had questions and just checked other people’s experiences. unless you have something that might be a problem then a lawyer is not needed I think.

he hinted to it and seemed satisfied, he didn’t check that many documents I brought so many, he did start talking about when I get my conditional green card what to do after 2 years and stuff so I had a feeling i was approved. he said something about everything looking good and if he ever needs anything he will contact me but he doesn’t believe he will.
