Filling out DS160 while at NVC - K1
Our case was approved on June 10 at USCIS. I don’t know when USCIS sent the case to NVC. We haven’t gotten the welcome letter yet. Are we able to fill out the DS160 before getting our NVC case number? Or do we have to wait until it arrives?

you have to wait till the NVC give you an access to their website otherwise you can’t fill out any form or send requested documents

For the K1 you fill the DS160 once your case shows as READY on CEAC.

Have you gotten your welcome letter yet? My noa2 is June 16th. I've been emailing NVC weekly for updates. but nothing yet. Although the last response I got from NVC was to send them a scanned copy of my I-797 so they can find my case. 🤞🏽

sorry K1 Visa process doesn't get a welcome letter. only a case number and invoice ID. They will hold onto your petition for 60-90 days before they send you a email and or a paperwork with your case number and invoice ID. hopefully it's 60 days because people have waited long enough already waiting to be with their loved ones.

The other only way I know how to get a hold of the NVC to get your case number is to send a email inquiry from their site. NVC inquiry.state.gov
something like that. it takes like 2-3 months to get a response. probably by the time they respond people will already have their case number. that's how slow they are !
