Field Office Assignment for AOS?
I am still waiting for my priority date to become current, but I’ve always wondered how the field office for an AOS application is determined. Specifically, how do they decide which field office handles your case, and what are the chances it will be assigned to your local field office? For context, I have an approved I-140 based on EB2-NIW.

it goes to a field office when an interview is needed but it may stay in NBC if no interview and will decide on your AOS

its a local office if you’re going to be interviewed. otherwise, if there is no interview, just any random field office in any corner of the country
