Farmed out to FO
I found out my case was farmed out from NBC to Seattle, as they've been sending them to field offices to help with backlog. This doesn't show in my tracker, still says owned by NBC, given it was sent at the end of march, I wonder if this means it will be actioned soon or not...
I don't live in or around Seattle...

This is good news. My case has been transferred to Santa Ana FO on March 19th. I live in Boston.
Still waiting for an update.

You think good news? let's hope huh! Hoping we both get the green light soon @J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 16, 2024
Yea, normally the I-485 is adjudicated at the field office.

Kevin: Thatโs good news my friend! Best of luck.

really good news! congrats!
Harry GreenApr 16, 2024
hi! how did you learn that your forms were sent to a FO from NBC? who to ask?
Kevin RoweApr 16, 2024
Surprised everybody thinks this is good news tbh, if they're farming them out due to workload surely lots of people's are, we just don't get told about it. I finally got somebody on Emma to answer me something (usually tell me to go to my employer)
Holy BlessingsApr 16, 2024
mine was sent out to Seattle and back to NBC and now in crp @Kevin Rowe
do u have ead and parole yet?
Kevin RoweApr 16, 2024
@tara hope I have EAD, no AP but I don't need it. Am L1A ROW. I've travelled internationally during process so AP prob will be rejected. my timeline is in my profile
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 16, 2024
@Kevin Rowe FO transfer is part of the process, itโs usually the last step before adjudication. NBC transfers an I-485 to the FO when the PD is current, background check has been completed, and โinitialโ documents required for adjudication have been submitted. The FO does the final adjudication.
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 16, 2024
@J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ also, a transfer to a non-local FO means that your interview has most likely been waived.
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
how do we know our local office if we live in a place where there are many (i.e. South Florida)?
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
@Harry Green type your zipcode here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/field-offices
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
thanks @J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ !! got it. Itโs MIA for me. does it really matter? or NBC is handling the full process for EB1-C?
Raj SApr 17, 2024
Its also possible to get a direct approval from NBC.
Holy BlessingsApr 17, 2024
mine was at nbc went to Seattle then back to NBC @J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
@tara hope yes because a visa number is no longer available for you
Holy BlessingsApr 17, 2024
I know that. the point I am trying to make is just cos it transferred to field office doesnโt mean anything @J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
@tara hope i disagree. if your PD is current it means that youโre closer to adjudication.
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
@J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ good point. but if we are current, nbc may also be the one doing the approval right?
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
@Harry Green it is possible but itโs rare. Most often, itโs the FO that does the final adjudication and not NBC. The FO approves the I-485 and NBC mails the card and approval notice.
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
@J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ ok, yes, so then the estimated processing time at the FO is what matters?(24 months for MIA)โฆ and is that why there is no estimated processing time for NBC for i-485??
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
@J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ tbh, itโs new to me that NBC is not the one approving it. as I see many approved cases in NBC that do not show a transfer to a FO..
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
yes itโs the FO processing time that matters. the clock doesnโt reset when an application is transferred to a FO.
Yes, this is why NBC doesnโt have an estimated processing time for I-485.
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
@Harry Green uscis doesnโt update you when a case is transferred from NBC to a FO. You have to keep checking with an Emma agent to know if your case has been transferred or not
J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธApr 17, 2024
if you check my timeline in my profile, I have manually added the field office transfer
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
@J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ great point. I didnโt consider speaking to Emma. do you know if there is information about current/past workload of FOs?
Harry GreenApr 17, 2024
@J A. ๐ฑ๐ง๐บ๐ธ great stuff!! do you know if my zip code is the one I should use tonsee what is my FO? pr if my lawyerโs? the lawyers got the EAD and APs fyi.
neil springerApr 19, 2024
@Kevin Rowe how did you find out where it was sent?
Kevin RoweApr 19, 2024
Emma never answers me normally but just tried on off chance and an agent told me, tbh not even sure it's worth knowing @neil springer
M BMay 7, 2024
@Kevin Rowe how do you get through to someone when speaking to Emma? our timelines are very similar. did you call or speak to someone via chat?
Kevin RoweMay 7, 2024
Hope and pray @M B it's not worth yhe hassle to be honest
M BMay 25, 2024
@Kevin Rowe thanks. got through to someone who confirmed my case is on its way to a case office, but no further updates on the system
Kevin RoweMay 25, 2024
yep, information but no idea if it will end up speeding or slowing @M B Mine has been at nonblocal for almost 2 months now
M BJun 11, 2024
@Kevin Rowe - so is the anticipated timeliness from submitting the 485 or from transferring to a FO? gosh, I hope my 8 months haven't been nullified
