Family vs employment based approvals
I'm seeing a ton of people in this forum getting family based green cards approved (and in relatively short timelines) while most of the employment based ones seem to be waiting forever. I wonder if it's actually that much faster or if there are just a lot more family based applicatants here. happy for the families, just frustrated about being in limbo

employment based here filed in Oct 2020, bio in march and nothing else after that.

woof that's rough. EB1a? I filed the i485 in September 2020, bio in December, EAD in Jan, RFE for medical in March, replied in april and nothing since

EB here, still waiting since December 2020, nothing, not even bio appointment. They are probably prioritizing family based, or maybe the family based folks are waiting longer than us. It depends on the processing center, PD date....

did you both file the i140 and i485 at the same time? I filed the 485 after i140 approval in case that makes any difference

in my case I485 was filed in oct than i-140 was approved right after in nov. Not even combo card on hands yet.

eb3 Oct filer here , ead card on hand on May ( primary only ) . bio done on May, i-140 approved on May as well

I feel the same. Apparently AOS by employment is not a priority for USCIS

I disagree. There is a lot of familly based applications still waiting for biometrics since September, October and November last year. My PD is November 2020, familly based and I still did not received bio appointment. All applications are delayed and there are some lucky people which are moving pretty fast.

filled concurrently oct 2018, i 140 approved Jan 2021 and AOS still pending done fingerprints more than a year ago!

some cases of employee based get approval without interview but not the family based

@Patiently waiting I filed concurrently 485 and 140 in November, receipt date is December 21. Still waiting on bio and EAD
