Fafsa and going to school
I had my vawa appoved last year and my 485 is still pending.
I want to go to school and wondering if anyone knows if one can get fafsa will an approved vawa???

@Grace Miles i don't think so I applied for fafsa with my approved vawa itI wasn't approved. But you can try.

I didn't get it with an approved vawa, I usually get it with the prima facie

@Grace Miles You are eligible for Fafsa under category "Eligible noncitizen". Select this category when you apply fafsa. After you applied fafsa online and submitted application, your school financial aid office will contact you to ask your immigration/legal status in USA plus other docs. You need to provide them either a copy of your prima facie (if vawa pending) or vawa i360 approval notice.
In case, school's financial aid office does not understand about prima facie/vawa, send them a copy of this PDF. I can't paste pdf link here. Google this and download.....(GEN-10-07) Subject: Student Aid Eligibility - Eligibility for Title IV Aid for “Battered Immigrants-Qualified Aliens” as provided for in the Violence Against Women Act ("pdf").

@Grace Miles do u have a social security card. and work permit? what state are u in.. if u are in NY u can go to school for clinical medical assistant at the Suny Beoc school they have different locations. they have PCT couses and so many other courses for free. do your research ask questions. !! I am now working in a hospital i went to school for free and got CCMA certification phlebotomy certification and ekg technician certification bls basic life support certification with the state..all for free. please ask questions .. best of luck!!

my vawa is still pending and not approved as of yet but I was still granted fafsa with my ead card and social security number.
