F2B
I just received an email that my case F2B category status is changed to actively reviewing (PD: 18OCT2019). I believe next steps are approval, send to NVC, welcome letter from NVC, waiting years, biometric, interview, green card! any experience about timeline? Tnx

first you have to wait until your case turn to approved in USCIS after that they notify you that the case has been sent to the NVC

@Iraj Koohi as SK mentioned, first, you have to wait until your case turns approved in USCIS after that they notify you that the case has been sent to the NVC. Then maybe after a while might give you a case ID number and ask you to pay the required fees. However, you have to wait until your priority date becomes current. As of now the current priority date is Sep 22, 2015. You have to watch the Visa Bulletin (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html) which is published monthly and see when the action date says Oct 18, 2019, then it means that your priority date becomes “current,” which is what allows a consular officer to adjudicate and issue an immigrant visa. So receiving a case number and paying the fees does not mean that you will get your visa. You will not be able to do that until your priority date become current. For the last 10 months, the Visa Bulletin did not have any movement ( the filling date moved forward 93 days, but that is used for the applicants who are already in the US). I am not a lawyer but this is my understanding. So, it is a long wait! All the best :)

how many time that your case changed to Active Reviwed, mate ?. my case change first time 22-11-2021 and PD 11-2019 but still pending. Some will have approve straight away after actively reviewed, some need to wait the second active reviewed to get approve.

guys, my case was sent to the department of state for visa processing. asking me go to uscis.gov and find information in consular processing and follow the instructions. I cannot find consular processing. where is it?
I
Iraj KoohiJul 15, 2022
I found out that the consular processing is for applicants living outside of US and require visa to enter and apply for GC through adjustment of status. my son is the applicant living outside of the US, but has Canadian Passport and can easily enter the US. what should he do?
I
Iraj KoohiJul 15, 2022
received welcome letter from NVC. in two days I can provide NVC Case number, and Invoice ID number in welcome letter to see what’s next. in terms of I-485, I think my son who has Canadian passport and can easily enter US any time, we may ignore submitting it. Is it mandatory for his case to fill and submit i475?
A
Adam TJul 15, 2022
@ Iraj so my understanding that one of your son parents hold a green card and applied for him ans he is over 21 years old. So even he entered US, the priority date to adjust status which by submitting I-485 is not current yet for your son, the current priority date is Jan 1, 2017.
I
Iraj KoohiJul 15, 2022
Tnx Adam. My son has Canadian passport and don’t need visa to enter US, but can stay maximum 3 months as visitor. I have petitioned him for F2B. I know that Canadians are not allowed file for AOS. my question is what should he do with I-485 step? he is in Italy studying medicine.

All the best for your son on his study. I do not think that there is anything need to be done at this moment. He will need to wait until his priority date become current then will be eligible to do embassy processing. Keep in mind that he needs to stay single ( not officially married) until the immigrant visa has been issued to him. My dad applied for me 2014 and I was able to adjust my status in 2019, I was on student visa all those years. I am not a lawyer but this what I think. All the best!
