the wait time for you is around 7 years. you have to follow the dates for filing on the visa bulletin. once the dates are current for filing, then you can apply for visa

that process is to allow Canadians to enter US, not to provide Green Card. The GC process is same for all.

there’s a whole lot of info on uscis for Canadian to enter US. I’m not sure about the visa. All I know that GC is same for all and rest of the world. If he can enter US, he can probably do AOS instead of consular processing.

hey I am already in us getting medical treatment and under the care of my father we just want to know the best pathway but I am over 21 so I don’t know if I can adjust status while I am here

I’m in the same situation as you. I’m unmarried over 21 and living in US. my father applied back in 2015. I had to wait until 2021 for visa bulletin dates to become current. once current, I applied for aos and now I’m just waiting like everyone else.

@hendrix I hope you get well soon

@waiting 4ever i called uscis 2 months ago and a lady told me that I might as well adjust status while I am here due to my i130 already pending so I can get an answer quicker instead of waiting for pd to become current. I was confused so I did not adjust status I am just debating whether to wait or take her advice

thank you I finish treatment in December

@hendrix if you wanna file aos, just like waiting patiently said, it’s better to get a lawyer just to be safe or get their suggestion before you file.

@waiting 4ever, could you please tell me how did you get a visitor visa and came to the USA while your case for i130 is processing? I would love to bring my son to the USA. His case is the same as yours. However, all people tell me that it is not easy to get a visitor visa while you have an open file in processing immigration!
Thanks in advance!
