@V T I'm not sure, maybe not since we got the i130 approved before my spouse got his citizenship and they told us upgrading the case wouldn't affect it.
It's a bit weird, also when you check the processing time for I485, they don't ask if ur case is IR1 or f2a, you just enter family base in the form category, which makes sense.

@lama l that doesn't sound correct. Upgrading should change your case. Who told you otherwise?

I tried calling USCIS and chatting to upgrade my case. All the replies were to wait, and I have to do nothing. Even if you search for a form to fill, there is only the I-130, which you can upload as evidence of citizenship
