f1 does have a "non intent to immigrate " you're going to have to present a very strong case that you plan to return to your home country if you're married to a us citizen. if you do intend to immigrate to the us applying for an f1 may be seen as fraud.

well, theoretically it’s possible but it’s up to officer to decide. I don’t know your situation, but it’s might be easier to wait for your immigrant visa before going to school here. You need to pass language test, transfer any of your international credits, prove you have finances available to pay for school and boarding, pay consular fees, etc. I’m sure you know this. It takes energy, time and money. If you are still willing to give it a try knowing that you will likely be declined your student visa, then go ahead. If you decide to wait until you immigrate, you’ll be able to pay resident price for your school classes which was about ~50% cheaper the rate international students payed in school I attended. Additionally, you will be able to apply for FAFSA (financial aid) that is only available for permanent residents. As internatinal student, you’ll still have access to private scholarships so you have options. I graduated with associates degree from community college but waiting for my GC to transfer to university to finish my bachelors since I’m not in rush. I already work in my area. it’s really up to you based on your circumstances. good luck

to cheer you up, my friend got a tourist visa even though for the past 5 years he also was issued visa that allowed him to work in US seasonally. He could be declined because officer could assume that he applies for tourist visa to come work here as always, but no. His visa was approved although he was stopped at the port of entry and questioned about his intentions. Officer also ended up calling the person who was picking him up from airport and questioning him too. It’s different from your case since both visas in this case were non-immigrant, but I’m just saying there are chances for you to get approved

@sofie that was a very well written explanation and i really appreciate the answer. Are you comfortable with me personally asking a few other questions regarding immigration on a social media platform? Would help a lot. Again, thank you so much :)
