so expedite requests are kinda strange I find because I feel like it’s very subjective and it depends on the agent that gets your request that makes the decision. that’s why you see people getting denied the first time and the second time they get approved. I submitted my expedite request on the phone with USCIS and they gave me a number for the request. 1 month later I got an answer that they will expedite my case. I wasn’t asked any evidence or document. I just stated on why I think my case should be expedited and that’s it.

I find that with USCIS its easier to get an expedite request approved rather then when you will be at the NVC stage.

i find that they have a huge mess with the expedite request because so many people try to ask for it! it’s unfortunate but they do never answer sometimes :( I remember when I gave mine when it was past 1 week I was calling everyday and they told me to just wait.. so one day I had enough and contacted my congressman. (congressman of the city the beneficiary lives in) I told him about the situation and how they never answerered my expedite ( that was like 2 weeks after ) the Congress office explained to me that they have a direct line to USCIS that’s only communication between USCIS and congress office! so he contacted them and did what he had to do and a month later not only my expedite was approved but my whole case was approved 😳

so the only advice I have for expedite requests would be to do it through congressman if you don’t want to be caught in the big expedite pile with everyone else. when it’s done with the congressman then it has a priority on it and I think you have more chance in having it approved and quicker.

we already contacted the congressman as well but haven’t heard back from him yet… today we did the expedite request through Emma and hopefully it’ll help.. thank you for all the advise that’s very helpful!

Hello. we expedite our case due to medical emergency condition. It took us a few attempts before they sent us an email . So you really have to call and contact them to make sure that the request is being assigned. We provided a personal letter explaining the physical and mental hardship. And a letter from the doctor- describing diagnosis and a need of my presence to help my husband After we received the letter - we fax all the proofs. And they approved our case in the matter of few days. Case was Approved on November 22 .Vermont center . Sent to the NVC on November 25 . Submitted documents to the NVC on December 9, 2022. Approved by NVC on January 10,2023 Waiting for the interview in Armenia

The agent told us that the case is submitted and we got a number for the expedite request… does that mean that it is assigned? or do I have to keep calling and contacting Emma? thanks so much for your comment and sharing of your experience!

After a month and a half of submitting an expedite request I receive this email saying “case is under review . you will receive a decision or notice of action shortly.” Does anyone know approximately how long before I get a follow up email?

it’s always better to call again and to make sure they really are working on it . They can assign and give you a number for expedite request ,and yet you won’t receive an actual email. So,always keep your eyes on this

after the request for additional evidence they went quite, aren’t they meant to send an email explaining its being worked on
