expedite request
So on Monday I requested an expedite request in case because my mom’s health was critical, however, my mom passed away on Monday night. Now that I requested the expedite, should I contact USCIS again to tell them what happened? Or just wait until they respond my expedite request?

@benn bidio @ @Keep Waiting @Debbie Amarachi thank you so much for for your condolences. my mom funeral was today and it is sad because I didn’t ask for an advance parole because I was scared of not being able to return to the states, that maybe immigration won’t let me re-entry the country. so for now I will have to stick with the expedite request.

Hey...am so sorry for your loss. You could have hotten an advance parole very easily and most definitely they would have let you back into the country. All you needed was your mom's death and birth certificates and yours to match that she is your mom. They just want to see the relations. That is not hard to do. You don't have to tell them that the funeral is today, get those documents and make an infopass appointment. Go see your family.

I am so sorry, my mom also passed away and I expedited and sent evidence and I never heard back from them and I did not know how to call them at the time so I just prayed and left it in gods hands.😕🙏🏾

no thats not the case!! even though you didn't submit I-131 you should still be able to request Emergency AP!! Call USCIS and give it a try!! it won't hurt anything!!
