Expedite Request denied twice
Hi, I have a family emergency and need to fly to my home country asap. I’m devastated because my EAD expedite request has been denied twice without a chance of providing any supporting documentation like medical records. (I need to expedite both EAD+travel doc since I’m transitioning from another VISA and currently employed, if I leave the country my current EAD gets canceled). The agent on the phone entered the details of the severe medical condition of my father but they seem indiferent in regards to humanitarian reasons. They’re obligating me to make a really hard choice and I feel really helpless. Does anyone know if EAD can be expedited through an infopass appointment? In my case, with the advance parole itself it’s not enough I need the EAD card expedited as well or I risk loosing my current job. I filed Jan 15th in Nebraska center. Thank you all grateful for this community 🙏🏻

I'm so sorry Nora, it seems like a terrible situation. Have you tried contacting your congress representative? usually congressman/congresswoman have a immigration section were they help with these petitions. sending positive thoughts your way so that everything goes smoothly.

I’m sorry Nora, I passed trough something similar in January, my father passed away and it was very inhuman and unfair the treatment in the infopass appointment, the second time that I went I bring my lawyer and only then they approved the advance parole, I just don’t get how can exist so mean people.

in so sorry to hear clari bravo and thanks for your message. Were you able to travel and get back to your job just with the parole? I agree with you, some of them are heartless. This situation is really unfair.

PD DP thank you. I thought I131 and EAD were disconnected. That the infopass in person could only expedite I131 and it’s Nebraska the only center able to expedite EAD since my case is there… why do you think it can trigger both? these are very helpful insights thanks so much for sharing 🙏🏻

hi Nora, I’m sorry you are getting through, I understand you completely the anguish and desperation, be sure you are doing your best. yes, I was able to travel with an advance parole document and stay in my home country for one month, for the funeral services of my father. you have to call USCIS and ask for talk with a tier 2 officer, saying your case is urgent and you need an infopass appointment due to your father is ill and you have evidence, and you need to travel immediately there, be confident and don’t hesitate to talk strong, they take advantage of you otherwise, when they give you the appointment try to go with your lawyer if possible, bring all the document you need and extra documents translated, including your receipts and the form I-130 if I remember well
