you can't expedite I485. you can expedite I765. If you out of normal processing window you can raise SR. if you are too far delayed you sue their a$$.

the only way to request for expedite I-485 is proving that without it you will have a financial loss. And you must provide supporting documents for that. Otherwise - unfortunately - you have to wait

You can actually expedite I-485, but you can't expedite for employment reasons. So you need to have a strong reason to make that work for you.

I-485 can be expedited with same reasons as for I-765. But most likely the expedite request for financial reason will be denied with reason that they have I-765 for that

@abi, checking on the USCIS website, expedite cases can be requested for a few reasons (and I invite you to check yourself as well). It is true some government agencies (such as Defense, etc.) may be behind the reason of accepted expedite cases, but it mentions “emergencies”. Now, granted that I am very happy for you your spouse is coming back home, in my opinion that doesn’t seem to be an “emergency”. I would talk to a lawyer though, as I may be wrong.

@v no my spouse isn’t coming back home. he is just about to be deployed overseas. he is leaving in 2months

@abi oh, okay… I am still not sure this would be considered an emergency. USCIS decides by case, so a lawyer consultation may be helpful before taking any action
