employer moving for another state
Hi guys, ,my employer is moving out of state, and because I don’t want to file a i485j I decided to move with them. do you think this move can impact negatively the adjudication of the GC? because I’ll change my home address, and my labor certification was for MA and now the position will be in TX. please share your opinion with me. I have this option of staying and find another position, but I don’t want to deal with another form. share your thoughts with me please

You still have to file I485J
You sure have to file that you changed address and that might trigger suspicious that you changed employer
You are working with them in another state
Happened to a friend.
But you don't need to submit I485J
File it and just keep it
If you happen to be among those USCIS unfortunately sends RFE to ascertain if you're still working with your employer
Then you submit
definitely your paystub will carry another date and state.
I'll say consult with an attorney too.
My suggestions are suggestions at best... not legal advice

thank you for your reply. so you are suggesting that I should file the i485J even though I’ll be with the same employer? did you friend move to another state in order to keep working with her employer?

There is no need to submit i-485j as you are still on the same employer. Just notify USCIS you changed your address.

@Barb B sorry for the late response. I moved to Texas and I am still working for the same employer, but I’m changing jobs soon. I updated my address, and I Did not receive any RFE yet to file i485j.
