@gc what’s the point of having filing date as march 2021 since everyone from FY 21 have already filed their I-485 and are waiting for their PD to be current. since the backlog from 2020 is done filling date should resume back to September 2022 where it was before retrogression.

@sam young i am hoping for big jump they should allow the aos to file technically

@sam young well its even if ppl have already file if they don’t have enough visa u wont see the movement. otherwise why would they move vb backward 2 yrs then. every mth they are issuing 600+ visa on consulate and 300+ on aos. still 2020 ppl are waiting here and u want to see magic? read how dates move,

@G C date of filing is just to let people file their I-485 & other documents it has nothing to do with visa availability. yes final action date depends on the number of visa availability. if you see in previous years even in retrogression date of filing was always current or close to current. the reason they are issuing so many visas for consular is because the embassy were closed for 2 years and they had large numbers of cases piled up which caused retrogression. now we just have to wait for October VB but I don’t really have high hopes

@sam young If USCIS determines there are more immigrant visas available for a fiscal year than there are known applicants for such visas, we will state on this page that you may use the Dates for Filing chart. Otherwise, we will indicate on this page that you must use the Final Action Dates chart to determine when you may file your adjustment of status application. However, if a particular immigrant visa category is “current” on the Final Action Dates chart or the cutoff date on the Final Action Dates chart is later than the date on the Dates for Filing chart, applicants in that immigrant visa category may file using the Final Action Dates chart during that month.
