Eb3-unskilled, AOS, F1 student questions.
Thank you for your support! I have three important questions as an F1 student under EB3 unskilled, waiting for my Adjustment of Status:
1. I've been advised to maintain my F1 status until I get my green card, but my financial situation makes it hard to continue classes. Can I stop attending school and give up my F1 status while waiting for the green card? Should I?
2. If l abandon my F1 visa, am I required to start working for my sponsor immediately, or can I just wait out until I receive the green card?
3. I have an EAD with advance parole. Can I use it to work at different jobs while waiting for my green card to support myself? I've heard I can work both skilled and unskilled jobs without negatively impacting my adjustment of status, but l'm uncertain.
Thanks for any insights!

@Ell Soma i would ask a lawyer the first question.
2- you may start working for your employer now with your EAD or wait until gc is approved. once gc is approved you should work for them for at least 6 months (recommended)
3- now you may work anywhere

For 1, keep in mind that as soon as you work using your EAD from pending i485, you will no longer be in valid F1 status, since F1 doesn't allow for that. So maintaining F1 status will only work if you don't intend to work at all using 485 EAD until you get your GC.

You can research on your own but there is no law stating that you have to work for the employer immediately once you have your EAD, although it is very highly recommended but with the current economy situation, you can say you want to save up to start relocating to work for your sponsored employer in an interview, im sure they’ll understand since you cant just financially taking class to maintain your F1 status. But you should start working for them ASAP once you are financially ready.
Yes, once activate EAD, it automatically terminate your F1 visa. I dont think not everyone can have the financial ability to keep paying for 4,5 years of classes to maintain status.
I would work an unskilled job so if they ask you in an interview, you can say that though you didnt work for the sponsored employer, you still decide to stick with the Unskilled Program as expected, or even do both skilled and unskilled jobs to financially ready to relocate and work for your employer.
Just my opinion and research.

Thank you for your responses, everyone.
Based on your advice, I understand that I should consider taking an unskilled job. Would choosing a skilled position decrease my chances of acceptance for aos?

I would advised you to contact your lawyer before taking any decision on your case.
