EB3 derivative approved 8 months after primary after service request
My wife was the primary applicant and was approved all the way back in June 2023 just before the retrogression. I unfortunately was scheduled for an interview and fell into the retrogression. My case was put in CRP pending a visa number immediately after the interview. Our pd finally became current again in Jan 2024 but there was no movement still.
I finally called and found that they had put me under my birth country(India) for chargeability instead of my wife(ROW). This had me in an indefinite 12 yr backlog instead of being current. They put in a service request to correct it to ROW and I was finally approved yesterday, after around 2 weeks.
If you're in CRP status, please be proactive. Do not assume USCIS will do things correctly. I would have been waiting for a long time had I not called and put in the service request.

what step did you take to a phone call? tier-2 agent or just any agent?

i am also in CrP but not able to create service request. can u pls let me know the number you called?

I called the 1-800 number on their website and asked to expedite my case until I got a tier 1 agent. The tier 1 agent created a service request and had a tier 2 agent call me back.
Hope your cases are resolved soon too
