@Ali J just curious. were you in US but had to leave? looks like you were going to do AOS but then switched to consular processing. also why did it take so long for you to get interview scheduled? looks like your PD has been current for a while now?

@adam smith i had a family emergency and left the US without advanced parole. Then I got my i140 approved while I am in Uzb but i 485 declined due to me leaving the country without obtaining advanced parole. I filed i 824 for tranfering my case from AOS to Consular processing. January, 2024 everything was ready to be scheduled for an interview at the US Embassy in Uzbekistan. it took them 9 months to schedule the interview, no idea why.

@Ali J got you! so waiting was mostly for transferring your case from AOS to Consular and scheduling an interview with Embassy. I am assuming US embassy in Uzb is backlogged. I am in similar situation, might need to leave US as my visa expires

@adam smith you can apply for work authorization while your case is pending and work with it

@Ali J now there is a backlog for EB2 ROW. you can’t apply for work permit unless your priority date is current….
