EB2 NIW (Texas)
I Filled my case in May 2020 and did not get any news so far.
Did anyone receive any communication?
Why does Texas processing time is SO different than Nebraska?
Thanks!

Nebraska is also a pain, trust me. Premium processing is available for pending cases
jon leuerJan 24, 2021
I had a client also named Luciana from Sao Paolo who waited for long 19 months, Nebraska case.

This is terrible, Jon πͺπͺπͺ
Nallavanukku NallavanJan 24, 2021

I applied in April niw eb2 . no news at all
Sami AminJan 24, 2021
Texas center is so slow
Sami AminJan 24, 2021
Nebraska is very fast
jon leuerJan 24, 2021
Sami Amin, how many times have you applied in Nebraska to know that? Processing times prediction won't work most of the times.
Luciana SakemiJan 25, 2021
@Jon - did your client applied before the pandemic?
jon leuerJan 25, 2021
She did, long wait but approved without RFE.
Sami AminJan 26, 2021
Jon, I know more than 10 friends who got results from Nebraska in less than 6 months . secondly go online and check uscis processing times , those are actual numbers given by uscis . itβs not prediction it is fact . Nebraska is real fast. Texas is real slow

Yesterday I saw a eb2-niw for a dentist. It was filled on apr 20 2020 and approved on jan 14 2021. We can have some hope! π
Luciana SakemiJan 26, 2021
Processed by Texas Service Center.
jon leuerJan 26, 2021
Sami, don't trust processing times young grasshopper. I have had more than 60 cases there within last 3 years.
jon leuerJan 26, 2021
Yes, Luciana! NIW is on mainstream more than ever. Just need a Job patience.
Luciana SakemiJan 26, 2021
Good news, Jon! Thanks!
Nallavanukku NallavanJan 26, 2021
@Jon, how is NBC for eb i485 cases? filed on Sep 15 2020, bio dec 7, ead on Dec 26. EB1B India. PD March 2013 (ported from EB2)
jon leuerJan 26, 2021
Hey Nallavan. Yr EAD path was smooth, are baba! NBC is my favorite, with approved I-140 you will most definitely get greened by mid-21.
Nallavanukku NallavanJan 26, 2021
@Jon, if I get Greened mid 21, I will send u and everyone at Lawfully a virtual hug!
jon leuerJan 26, 2021
Feel free to send us beer πΊ lol
andrea 123Jan 28, 2021
hi @jon!! My husband filled EB2 NIW on April in Nebraska and we got Ead on July, biometrics on August and 140 approved in January, we are waiting for the medical request but nothing yet! based on your experience how many time do you think it will take? ive heard NIW interviews were being waived too, but on the app I saw many NIW had interviews this year
jon leuerJan 28, 2021
Hey Andrea, I don't have much faith in Nebraska but your timeline seems fortunate. You will get a rfe requesting the I-693 form and if you sent form I-944 too you should be good.
Nallavanukku NallavanJan 28, 2021
@ Jon, we completed my wife's i693 without an rfe. we have it ready. can we mail it now? or should we wait for an rfe? is the report valid for 2 years?
Luciana SakemiJan 29, 2021
My prediction changed from Nov 2021-Jan 2022 to Mar, 2021-May 2021.... May I renew my hope to get it approved soon?
jon leuerJan 29, 2021
Hey Nalla, you must wait for its request, if not overdue, you can send the one you have in hands.
jon leuerJan 29, 2021
Yes, Luciana. Processing times frames have decreased by one month. This may impact this app algorithm.
Luciana SakemiJan 29, 2021
Thanks, Jon!
Nallavanukku NallavanJan 29, 2021
@Jon so they are valid for 2 years from the date it was signed by the doctor? I can hold on to it and wait for the rfe?
jon leuerJan 29, 2021
From doc's signature.

jon leuerFeb 1, 2021

andrea 123Feb 1, 2021
thank you @jon! yes we did filled it together! but why do you say you don't have much faith in Nebraska?
Luciana SakemiFeb 2, 2021
Thanks @Jon!
jon leuerFeb 2, 2021
@Andrea, as per my experience they are the slowests and they always ignore my G1145s.
jon leuerFeb 2, 2021
Pleasure, @Luciana.
O BFeb 12, 2021
@Nalla Please can anyone recommend a good lawyer for NIW filling?
Nallavanukku NallavanFeb 12, 2021
I have worked with only one lawyer. Rajiv Khanna at immigration.com.
I would rate him a 7/10. His law office filed my EB1-I140 petition. they did a good job, but I wish they were a bit faster. I worked really hard on my case and made it easy for the attorney. I wrote top quality letters that needed little to no review/corrections and had references from top scientists from 7 different countries. My point being, any lawyer can only do so much. 90%of the grunt work needs to be done by the applicant. Rajiv charged me $4600 +$250 for premium with no guarantees or refund based on the outcome. A very close friend of mine hired Mark Harrington from Tx. he had a similar experience and had to work a great deal of work on the case. but he spent much less money than me in terms of attorney fees. the legal fees is non trivial. I spent close to 10k just for uscis and attorney fee. my advice to anyone starting new is to read all the material there is about EB1/eb2 niw eligibility and prepare a strong case. I gained a lot of strategic ground just by reading the material online and building my narrative for my case. pick the criteria you are aiming for and make sure you have enough documentary evidence. If you currently do not have enough evidence, spend the time and effort building it. You can make your case heck if a lot stronger by some smart and careful preparation. Once ready, talk to many lawyers, especially the ones that give u a free initial consultation before you hire a lawyer.
Nallavanukku NallavanFeb 12, 2021
lastly do not forget that for eb2 niw you do not need a lawyer, if you are willing to work really hard. In hindsight, I think I could have done with without a lawyer. But I am happy that I have an approved petition and rest of the details are not really important
jon leuerFeb 12, 2021
Your words are just right, Nalla. But we have to keep in mind that you're a smart person and from science field. Most people seeking NIW aren't that brilliant and sometimes they are only graduated, masters at most and find very difficult to find the correct endeavor, the first prong of Dhanasar.
jon leuerFeb 12, 2021
@O B, talk to me. My email is leuer.at.law@gmail.com
