@arijit de no we didn’t do biometrics. just my daughter got biometrics since she turned 14 and we did Alien registration. but i guess that’s separate from AOS right? I was with the same company so i don’t need 485j

I initially responded to Medical RFE in Jan 2023, and immediately after that case moved to CRP. also, my kid turned 14 this yr. so should I do biometrics for him? please suggest. thanks in advance.

@Anto J you have to do Alien registration within one month from your kid turning to 14. once u submit the form you will get Biometrics schedule sent from USCIS for your kid.

@G S Thanks for helping with the information. While we filed I485 my kid was 12 and he already got an Alien registration number. After the kid turned 14 we attended non-immigrant Visa extension and provided biometrics. Could you please clarify whether USCIS would issue separate Alien registration number that is different from what was assigned during AOS filing?? I believe USCIS could issue a notice to redo biometrics and retain only one Alien registration number for a kid. Please let me know this won’t be the case.

@RP P no they did not issue separate alien registration number. just did the biometrics

Thanks @G S for your quick response. My son has already been allotted with Alien Registration Number (A-Number) as part of the AOS process, and the finger printing was done when he was 11 yrs / during 2022. since he has now turned 14, do I need to do alien registration again.

@G S congratulations. quick question in medical RFE, did the doctor redo all the tests/vaccine when preparing new i693 form or just referred to old i693 vaccine sheet?

@G S @Anto J My kid turned 14 this Feb. We registered within 30 days by filing G325R. Following to it, we received courtesy notice in the account and biometrics appointment in April for kid. We completed it. PD is current from Jan 2026. We have not received Medical RFE yet.

any inputs “What Happens Next in My I-485 Case . my PD Date: April 1 2022? • Dec 02, 2022 - Medical RFE was issued • Dec 11, 2022 - I sent the completed medical packet • Jan 06, 2023 - USCIS opened my application again - status shows "Case Remains Pending" (not current) Given this situation, what is the most likely next step? 1 2 USCIS issues another Medical RFE If they think the first packet was incomplete or expired. I get an Interview/Visa appointment scheduled If the case moves forward once the priority date becomes current. 3 My case gets approved / ready for final decision If my medical is accepted and everything is complete once the PD becomes current”

@raj jack Yes might get medical rfe as they have added couple of new vaccinations like Polio and Hepatitis.
