EB-3 Skilled with EAD Combo and End of F-1 Status.
Hi everyone, I received my EAD and Advance Parole (Combo Card) in May 2024. I was on F-1 Status and my F-1 Status “auto completed” after 60 days of the end of my Form I-20. The status of my I-485 is CRP (Case Remains Pending). Here is my Question: Since my I-20 has auto completed and I have EAD and Advance Parole, am I required to still go back to F-1 status while waiting for I-485 to be processed and approved? My EAD and Advance Parole Combo Card were approved before the end of my I-20. Notes: Priority Date: Sept 16, 2022 (Date of Filing of PERM Labor Certification) PERM Labor Certification Approved on July 3, 2023. Form I-140 was approved on August 4, 2023. Form I-485 was filed on Oct. 25, 2023. I will look forward to your input and feedback. Thank you.

@UD EnXristos you are good because you already submitted I485, so you are under adjustment of status. I was also F1 and I submitted I485 before my OPT expired.

Carla S is incorrect. You can only adjust status if your PD is either met or current

before you received your combo card, did it say in the website work permit produced or work permit and the travel permit produced ? I see an update for my work permit being produced but nothing for the travel permit

@Carla S Have you heard about the Visa Bulletin? You can't file for AoS at will.

@Ashleigh Brands but he filed his AOS before the visa bulletin retrogression.

@Carla S You either know the person or making assumptions. CRP means he has NOT filed within open window. You got a problem if you did the same

In Oct 2023 when OP filed for i485, doesn't look like their PD of Sep 2022 was current. Keep in mind, thats when USCIS said to use the final action date instead of filing date for adjustment of status cases. Sep 2022 only got current for filing in March 2024. @UD EnXristos You should check in with your lawyer asap and re-enroll in school to maintain status if there was a mistake.

@chah ks Emploment Authorization Document (EAD) may be approved independent of the Advance Parole Travel Document. When both are approved at the same time, you get a Combo Card (EAD and Advance Parole) in the same document. so if your EAD has been approved and not your Advance Parole, you just have to wait. I hope this answers your question, @chah ks

@Carla S Thank you. You are right. I wrote to my attorney and they confirmed that I am good to go. And Good News just came to me 2 days ago. I checked my case status and my I-485 has now been APPROVED. I’m Praising the Lord (PTL with me pls!). Thank you folks. I wish you all the best in your own immigration journey.
