@ dalla call your ss office and find out if they received the information from uscis to do your ssn are should you make an appointment 🤔 I had to make an appointment because they didn't get no info and the earliest date they have is February 16.

@dalla I tried for 1 week b4 I got a pick up try early in the morning that when I got through 9 amm

marriage based ead is 1 year, asylum is 2. other categories I am not aware

ricka mc - the EAD validity is not to extend 2 years in increments. in 2020, USCIS made changes that now make them give a validity "up to 2 years" instead of "automatically 2 years". so, your friend's 1-year EAD is no mistake from USCIS. also, that change was for asylum applicants, and it might depend on the category too.

@ Dalla Thompson try calling other offices that's what I did I live in the pearland area and the office assigned to me is Angleton I called them but I couldn't get to anyone so I called the a few other office in houston finally I got someone they took my info surprising there was nothing in the system with my name so they said someone from the Angleton office would call me back in 3 day .. they called me the other day I got an appointment for the next day .

finally reach someone at the social security office n she was so rude she said I must drop all my original documents along with the form at the office luby and they will send them back to me I don’t want these ppl to misplaced my original documents

The only thing I was asked to bring was my passport ,birth certificate and my work permit ..I took my marriage certificate just in case since my EAD was in my marriage name and the form everything was given back to me .

Dalla Thompson - J R is right. they shouldn't ask you to leave anything with them, and you shouldn't. normally, you bring all your original documents in person and they make copies. then you leave with everything you came with. that lady you spoke with is suspect. 🤔 lol

Dalla - I hear you 😂. yes, when your card comes and if they allow walk ins, then just go with everything and have it done then. some of those people are clueless and it shows when they open their mouths. it's a good thing you held back. you were classier than she was. 🤗

I just checked the approval document it says valid until 2024. they started to issue 2 year EADs apparently

yeah. it takes up to a year to approve and you can’t ask for renewal until 6 mos are left. glad they started to make sense lol
