@kp congratulations but if u do change of address on a vawa case they won’t change it automatically u have to include it with a written letter from yourself to back it up so they know it’s really u not ur abused spouse trying to get your documents

Do uscis send tracking number and this site whenever they mail anything?

N R ~ Anytime. Have you signed up for informed delivery w/the USPS? They scan all of your mail (most times) so you can actually get to see what’s been delivered to your mailbox.

yes @ kP u need to write them a written letter that happened to me I did the change of address but they still keep sending mails to my old address so my lawyer told me I have to fill the form and also include a written letter from me date and signed!! that’s for only vawa case

Oh boy I’m screwed!…..LOL!!!!! I’ll have to definitely go to the post office tomorrow then. I thought the online submission would be enough. That means I probably won’t get my EAD from my atty until next year. She hasn’t notificed me that my Vawa has been approved or anything. This is so sad.

N R ~ I literally JUST got a notification from Lawfully stating that the card was p/u by the postal service ~ they provided a tracking number. ☺️

Thanks N R. Card is delivered today. Unfortunately it got delivered to my atty who doesn't respond to any of my correspondence. I got the phone number of the building she works out & the receptionist told me she hasn't seen her in the longest time. 😳 This is really scary. I asked her if she still works in this building (rents an office in the building), she said yes, yet the atty told me, she's closing the office down at this location. Then why is USCIS still sending mail here? Maybe this is why I get my mail so late from her. I've sent her a text letting her now I'm here. No response.

liza liza ~ This saga w/her is Neverending. I'm not going to allow her to stress me out, I've already down that & ended up on BP medicine! She finally responded to the text when I was at the office but said she couldn't come there. UNBELIEVABLE! She said she could meet me there at 8:30 Monday morning. I told her to PLEASE show up. I live 30-40 mins away from this office & don't want to make a blank trip. She said she'll be there so lets see.

That's how I feel about ALL of my documents that she holds onto. Like I'm begging you to give me my stuff. I shouldn't have to pay for consultations from other attys either. This has really been a bad experience. I finally got to the post office today & sent the AR11 form off & got it certified ~ uscis should have it by Wednesday. I DEFINITELY don't want my GC going to her office if she hardly ever goes there. Girl go onto Google & look up Nicole Avila, atty in Weston FL. Another one of her clients wrote a bad review. It sounds exactly like what I've been going through.

The mail sits in her mailbox until she comes to the office. I forgot where you are, but in Fla it is extremely commonly for ppl to rent an office space when they meet w/clients but they primarily work from home. The receptionist said when mail comes for the atty, she has her own mailbox, which she's the only one who holds the key. That's why I didn't get my bloody Prima Facie for 4 months! She wasn't going into into office. ffs....this is so unprofessional & unethical.

liza I'm mentally exhausted. I feel like giving up but it's NOT an option. I can't keep talking to her about her actions on how she's handling me or my case, coz she doesn't do ANY better. She just ghosts me & it's super frustrating especially when you don't know what's going on w/your case. I'm just glad it's coming to an end.

Listen if my knees weren't so jacked up, I woulda hurdled over the receptionist station. lol I want to see if I can get some insurance as I need to get knee surgery like YESTERDAY! If I don't get that surgery, I won't be able to work & support myself. The cut off date is the 7th I believe.

The hethmarket keeps sending me paperwork asking for proof that I'm authorized to be in the states. Even though I told them I have the work permit, they want to see it along w/the Vawa paperwork. Lord I hope she has the Approval paperwork too. smh

girl I’m trying to get some insurance too. I want to be able to get dental and get my womanly test done without having to pay or have a big bill when I’m done smh. but you shouldn’t have to ask for what’s yours you did your part and PAID HER damn it ppl are so disrespectful.

Exactly. She won't take responsibility for any of the stress she's caused me. I keep thinking if she had responded to that April RFE when she got it, I could have probably done some work from home jobs & been able to pay for a ticket to bury my dad back home.

Are there any low income clinics in Jersey? that's where I've been going for my gynecological exams, blood work, they put me on a sliding scale based on my mother's income. They also put me on a programme where I get mammograms at n/c at one of the best Hospitals here. They gave me a debit card which allows me to buy fruits & veggies as I'm now in a programme for ppl w/HBP. They gave me a BP machine also so I can document my numbers. They've been so good to me, it's been unbelievable. I'm so grateful for them.

My friend says she's evil too. Idk if shes evil. I think she's unorganized & possibly overwhelmed by the caseload. I offered to help her once, but she just ignored me lol. I don't play w/ppl & I don't want anyone asking me for anything. If I have to do something for someone, I just get on w/I & get it done. This is my life she's frigging about with. Calling the bar on her is pointless too.

No. You STILL have to mail it to them so they have the hard physical proof. I did the same thing that you did also, until I spk to another Vawa applicant on here & she told me to mail it out ~ it also tells you to do so in the instructions. Try to send it out via certified mail. Good luck!

@Krish90 krish ~ I never check the USCIS site, but last week I did. It says my Vawa case was approved February 2022. How is that possible, when I got approved November 2021? I really hope this new info doesn’t push my GC approval even further back. Has anyone else seen a discrepancy with approval dates?
