@Sassy: I am not sure to be honest. The expedite request on the AOS also mentioned the EAD extension (and obviously that’s all kind of connected). Also while mine now got produced, my husband’s didn’t yet (he’s however good on his visa for now). I haven’t heard back from the congressman’s inquiry but it might easily be that this put pressure on it as well. I am just happy something finally moved.

@CG 7: 08/10/21 We did however try to expedite, also with congressman. Not sure if that had impact as well.

I tried to expedite twice, was denied. 😕 Congressman won't help.

So, we tried to expedite both the renewal as well as the AOS. The renewal was rejected for both husband and me. The AOS expedite requested more information (but only for mine) and is currently still outstanding. The congressman I reached out to only for me. At this point we don’t know why the EAD for me got approved, I am just happy that it did.

I'm pleased for you, good news. My L1 expired in July last year and extension was approved in country, however, I could jeopardise my GC by leaving the country to kick start it. I'm stuck in a rock and a hard place.

Ugh, annoying. We will be applying for the extension of the L1/L2, just in case (also for my husband), while we continue to wait for the GC to come through.

I will probably re-engage mine once I get my new EAD. Albeit, the EAD will be valid for 2 years and I'm in month 25 of a 10 to 19.5 month process.

oh, this is so frustrating. Are you EB1-1? We are at month 20.5 out of the 10.5 to 19 months is supposedly taking at the moment.

@Sa Be: how different is the expedite on EAD and the AOS itself?

Both of our lawyers called and requested expedition. One ended up showing up on the SEC# for the i485 and the other one ended up showing up on the SRC# for the EAD only. I guess if the i485 gets approved you don’t need to worry about the EAD anymore. So right now the EAD one shows „card is being produced“ while the AOS one shows „expedite request received“. Not sure if they will deny that one once they see the EAD got approved or if I get lucky.

@Sa Be: I see. I really hope you get lucky, it's been a long wait. Now, as for requesting the expedite processing on the AOS, do you know if it's the same process then the EAD (same type of evidence etc)? Sorry for so many questions.

I believe so. when they don’t reject right away they usually want more evidence and I believe the text for both was the same (and we send the same package of documents in for both) „Upon receipt of your request for expeditious handling, your case has been reviewed and a determination made that we need additional information to make a decision regarding your request.“

i expect to get an RFE for medicals soon, we haven't been asked yet. Can you request to expedite 485?

Also just checked: both requests are handled by different officers (two different codes at the end).

we already handed in our medicals AND where out of normal processing times so for us it worked. And yes, I requested to expedite 485 and currently waiting on a decision.

Did you Interfile medicals or submit at time?

We submitted them after we got the RFE for them.

We got the card exactly a week after the status changed to card being produced.
