because you already have job and social security number. dependent doesn’t have social security number and it is needed.

@A Z Dependent also has social security before because she is a student. I am from Nigeria. I think part of the 39 countries. @A S , I filed at Raleigh field office while my wife filed at Cleveland field office

@Dee Barbara is your wife also from Nigeria? I guess it is became different field offices are processing your case.

Their is an hold on adjudication for benefits from persons from the ban countries. This means you won't get a decision on your EAD or I-485 until the hold is lifted. The reason why your wife got hers is because it was approved before the hold in December 2025 the holding policy was implemented in January 2026.

@Dee Barbara @helen helen Donald trump relationship with Nigeria government is not good. He is not happy with the Christian killings in Nigeria, and this news may not be real. So, don’t expect such positive news soon. Anyway god bless you.

@hello mark of the wife got hers and they both filed the same time he’s definitely going to get his approval his because we’re hearing that the pause with not necessarily affect EAD card.

@fc if you can’t accept the reality, that’s your problem. you don’t live in March right now. In the most of full/partial ban, government is targeting African countries. it is just the politics and your positively will not change the bitter and bad truth. it is always better to be prepared for the worst case scenarios and to have second option. I know friend from Iran and his wife. they had permanent residency for 5 years. they got usa citizenship approved. because of this ban, they stopped his citizenship oth. partial/full ban is for the security threat. it is not a small joke you think. if you don’t understand how current administration is working and targeting country, that’s your problem. why they put only 39 countries in that particular list but they didn’t put China in this list?
