old address is 1000 miles away. I called the apartment management and they said someone already moved in. they won’t give me his name or contact details. they said they will call him and call be back. I have found his name using USPS delivery and tried to contact him on all social media. but he doesn’t use it

send the new tenant a letter in the mail with your contact numbers and a gift card if needed

there should be an option to get a new card by calling them again. explain your situation politely. don’t lose the hope. best of luck.

if and when EAD is lost, you have to apply again. I know this because it happened to my friend. if I were you, I would travel to the old address and see if there is a chance the new occupant hasn’t trashed the card. it is worthy of trying.

I once had a $2000 watch delivered to an “old” address. I simply knocked on the door and politely requested them. You can do that too — just don’t mention anything about immigration paperwork (who knows if the new residents are racist or something). I know it’s a 1000 miles away, but a flight to and from is more affordable than waiting 10 months.

after moving and updating your address with USCIS, it’s always smart to also sign up for mail forwarding with Usps. it will cut out all this kind of confusion; I feel so bad for you knowing how long everyone has to wait for this Ead/green card thing. I hope it works out well for you. amen

so I got the guys email address and sent him a message. I said I would pay him for his troubles if I can pick them up. his reply was that he doesn’t do ‘face to face and that I should come up with other means’ ffs!

can he drop it at the apartment office for you? and give you the name of the office person he is dropping it with? can you get the apartment office involved in this conversation by copying them in the email? or just go down there and let the apartment office handle it. use a week to sort this damn thing out man. it’s worth it I swear

try Fedex or UPS pick up service or send him a label for shipping

he’s requesting money before he will hand it to the apartment management. then I can send FedEx to collect

just an update. paid him. the management have it now and I’ve sent FedEx to collect 👏🏻 so stressful
