EAD and Advance Parole renewal
Hi community,
I’d like to share my timeline regarding my EAD and Advance Parole renewal. I filed for both the EAD (Form I-765) and Advance Parole (Form I-131) in July 2024. My Advance Parole was approved in April 2025, but the status of my EAD (Form I-765) still shows: “Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken.”
My employer is requesting documentation to confirm the 540-day automatic extension, but I haven’t received any official letter regarding this. I’m really concerned because I don’t want to lose my job.
Has anyone experienced this, or can anyone advise me on what steps I should take?

The receipt notice is the document needed. It shows the 540 days extension.

My receipt notice was sent in August 2024, and at that time, the automatic extension hadn’t been updated to 540 days—mine still says 120 days.

@kim avra check the AP sometimes it includes the EAD.

My case is crazy right now. I supposedly file my EAD/AP in Nov 2024 with my lawyer,
only for the notice to come in June 1st and it stated that “ I’m eligible for extension 540 days if the received date is before the EAD expiry date.
not sure if my job can use it.
can I still use it ?😩

can I ask you how much did you paid for renewal? I had to paid $500 for EAD renewal to my lawyer December 2025 and didn’t know I also had to renew I-131! I got my new EAD yesterday and there was no Advance Parole message at the bottom of the card.. and my lawyer asking me $750 for I-131 renewal and $75for Fedex
