DQ’d Yesterday!!
#NVC #dq I was Documentarily Qualified yesterday by NVC and now comes the next wait for an appointment. Because I started this journey with my husband outside the US we ran into some hiccups in getting documents. They wanted to ensure that I was domiciled in the US and I ended up uploading a current bank statement (which had the address on it) and there was originally a letter from my grandfather who also explained that my home is also where he lives, as we will be staying there upon entering the US. Just a note for couples who lived outside the US during their marriage, they do not ask for the petitioner originally to prove their domicile but if you haven’t endure you put it from the beginning. Even a simple bank statement with your name and address in the US should be fine and it must be current. I’m just happy to be at this next step, doing this without professional help is a daunting task and my husband and I are trying to do our best to learn everything possible. Good luck to everyone else out there!!!!

@Jackie B. this is what NVC website says: all documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country from which you are applying, must be accompanied by certified translations.
