I have tried to apply for my ID or get DL but I can’t due to the fact they can’t verify my immigration status in US until Uscis approve my case.

really cuz I tried to get a temp driving permit here in my city Columbus Ohio ,they told me since it’s only receipts from USCIS ,they can’t grant me that ,l need to go get a state idd which when I went to dmv to apply for state idd ,they told me not possible I have to wait to get my EAP and Ssn,then l can come back !hmm

you can’t get anything until you get your work permit

cant do anything, the only thing i got was healthcare. no ID no DL 😭

all you saying you can’t get anything, know your rights. You’re supposed to have a 24 month extension which should automatically renew if your case is still pending. Also go to FO and get a stamp in your passport. I was in the same predicament until someone told me what to do. please do not be afraid to ask if you’re in doubt.

Dino Dell make an appointment so you can also get your passport stamp. the extension should be automatic renewal. if you did not get one ask for it. Don’t be afraid to ask

this is state specific. most states don’t give you a dl without an EAD & SSN

My understanding you can't get anything with receipts. Some states allow drivers license to undocumented immigrants. check with your states DMV.

I'm living in the state of FLORIDA AND less than a month of submission I used my receipts to get my drivers licenses. I gave them my receipts, my i94 and my 2 letters along with my marriage certificate and was give a paper license to use with my foreign license until I received it in the mail which took 60 days. I was told they have to verify with USCIS my case so hence the reason it took so long to come in the mail. i however received my EAD 2 weeks prior to my application but I had to wait 2 weeks in to get my license from the dmv instead because my foreign license had expired on my birthday that week n they override the document n printed me one there with the presence of my EAD and SSN

@dino you have to get a letter from SSA and attach it to your notices with two letter mails that shows you live in your home address then go to your BMV or DMV. you will get state ID or Drivers license

@over but what if you visa u have overstayed ur entry date ,cuz my actual visa will expire this 2023 July, I got married last year June on my visitor’s visa which allows 6 months per time but yeah I ended up staying n not leaving cuz I married

just go and tell the person at the counter you need a letter for BMV or DMV, hold your passport and two mails

your passport and the receipts you have, i personally did that and was able to get my drivers license i live in indiana
