DOES IT HELP TO CONTACT THE CONGRESSMAN?
Hello
Can you please tell me about your experience contacting the Congressman and asking for help with the immigration case?!
Does it really help?

A Z - it may or not help. at the end of the day it depends on the officer with the expedite request as he/she makes decisions at his/her own discretion. but you have nothing to lose for trying.

I ask for my congressman to help me in get the oath ceremony scheduled. Spoke with the lady Friday and same day she sent a inquiry in my behalf. I didn't hear anything from uscis or congressman yet. Unfortunately, we have only a customer service to ask about our case and they usually read some scripts without a clear information about our case. Hope the congressman help in some ways

Didnt help in my case eaither. just made me more upset that they consider this normal processing. nobody cares.
Car BDec 8, 2021
l hate to burst your bubble, it is normal process and wait time. there are cases that have been waiting since 2007.

I just read in another thread in this app. that one person is married for 18 years they have a dog and a child together and his case is still not approved ! and there’s another lady who is married for past 10 years and her lawyer messed some dates up at the beginning and her case was denied twice. she’s still trying to continue but ridiculous
Dee GVanEDec 9, 2021
with this said - I think all of us waiting less than a yesr. should be a little more patient- if we see other ppl struggling with that crazy timeline of wait ! 0.o
Car BDec 9, 2021
it's the sad truth Dee GVand E, there are many waiting for many years and they wait in hopes to be approved like all do. 2021 filers are moving at a rapid rate with their own cases and believe it's a slow process. l say you don't know the process like others who have waited 10/15 years and are still waiting.
Lilo PelekaiDec 9, 2021
Dee GVanE - yes. and that's something I have said and keep saying when people are impatient or act like USCIS owe them anything. the truth is that USCIS don't owe any of us anything, and they actually look for any reasons to deny petitions sent to them. it sad but true. USCIS has the final word on granting or denying petitions, just like the customs officers have the final words on granting or denying entry to the country even if we have the right documents. many of us have cases pending for years. Immigration in the US is a game of patience and strategies. and by strategy, I also mean how a petitioner reacts in front of the officers, as your attitude can get your case denied. it sounds crazy but it's true. remember that USCIS will always try to find a reason to deny a petition. from missing documents to your attitude toward them. don't give them any. so, yes, patience is key, and good strategies. the right combination will get you in.
Car B - very true. those folks don't know the struggle. 😂

100% agree Lilo, people need to stop acting entitled, be patient it will happen when it happens. Here is a new development that is arising with immigration processing - false marriage application. Yes people the government and it's agencies are clamping down and it's becoming out of control and slowing the process for legitimate cases. don't believe me? go to YouTube were USCIS posts daily issues pertains to immigration backlogs and other pertinent information. USCIS - Immigration News Updates - YouTube.

@ Lilo Pelekai, we need a group of our own...off lawfully.
Lilo PelekaiDec 10, 2021
Car B - you're so right on fake marriages. it's crazy how they are more and more rampants. people trying to cut corners and the rest of us suffer for it.
haha, that group would be nice for sure.
Car BDec 10, 2021
@ Frederico Alaska,
officers/agents try hard to find the truth in all cases that's why they often deny cases. This is USA you don't mess with any government agencies. if you don't tell the truth it's ok because these agencies already know the truth, they give you a chance if you lie them your the fool. keep it real and God has your back.
