if you paid for I-485 then EAD/AP renewal is free

it is free if you paid for I485. Here is a list of what you need; download the latest version of the forms from uscis website and fill it, photocopy of your current EAD(both front and back), photocopy of your I485 notice, photocopy of your I-94(this is optional), add a note and title it “Application for Employment Authorization (I-765) renewal and Travel Document (I-131) renewal”. Add in the note that you are applying for the renewal because your current card will expire or has expired (which ever is applicable to you) and with the note are copies of your EAD, I485 notice etc

Make sure to pay attention to all questions. I filed my own forms about a month ago. It is being actively reviewed. good luck !

@F A but my attorney says for the first time we got waived off the fees so we need to pay for the second time 500 for ead 500 for advance payroll he said he is going to charge me 1500 but I have pending i485 application too so do we need to pay for the renewal or not I’m confused

@chris rod did you pay when you filed your I-485? If yes, you don’t need to pay for EAD/AP renewal. If No, then you need to pay. Is the 1500 your lawyer is charging inclusive of the 500 for ead and 500 for advance parole? Honestly you can fill the form and submit yourself and save the money for lawyer

@F A ya I paid i485 fees but I dint paid for the EAd or AP so my attorney says we have to pay it because we dint paid the fees for the first time and I already paid i485 application fees at the when I was filing it so here I paid fees for i485 application so do we need to pay fees for EAD /AP or I should ask me my attorney that why he is charging

what catagory are you applying c09 or c31?

Better if you apply for a C 31 EAD combo and now a days they are issuing for 5 yrs EAD and Whe your VAWA Approved if it approved long time ago you should get GC by now

@chris rod if you paid for I-485 then your renewal should be free. Tell your attorney you are not supposed to pay for renewal

@Mr Mak I have a question I have a c09 ead right now can we apply for c31 ead and payroll if we are still having vawa application pending ?

c31 category is only for approved VAWA applicants that is I-360

VAWA l filed for l- 360 in April 2023 and did my biometrics August 2023. l have not received any response from USCIS yet. Anybody with any clue. Thank you
