The same thing happened to me. I had my interview this week, but last week it was canceled or removed from the schedule. I live in Texas, so maybe they canceled my interview because of the ice storm. I'm still waiting for a response from USCIS.

hello goodbyeJan 27, 2026
@Damarling Rios Yes, there does seem to be a trend going around. Even though it’s being said that there are no issues for people inside the U.S., this is still happening.

mine was cancelled as well and it’s been 36 days with no reschedule. Reached out to my congress man who forwarded the response he got back from them to me ā€œOn December 2, 2025, USCIS issued Policy Memorandum PM-602-0192, Hold and Review of all Pending Asylum Applications and all USCIS Benefit Applications Filed by Aliens from High-Risk Countries, which, among other things, directs the agency to place an adjudicative hold on pending benefit requests filed for aliens from countries listed in PP 10949, regardless of entry date, while a comprehensive national security review is conducted. This review is an agency-wide operational measure and reflects USCIS’s exercise of its authority to investigate immigration benefit requests filed by aliens who may pose risks to the national security and public safety of the United States, as outlined in DHS Delegation of Authority 0150.1, issued June 5, 2003. During the review period, USCIS is conducting individualized, case-by-case security assessments and is requiring additional scrutiny where warranted, including interviews that may not be waived. It is important to note that: The hold does not constitute a denial or revocation of any benefit; Each affected case will receive an individualized review; and The hold remains in effect until formally lifted by the USCIS Director through subsequent written direction. Additionally, USCIS announced Policy Alert PA-2025-26, which authorizes consideration of country-specific factors—such as identity document integrity and information-sharing limitations—as part of the discretionary analysis for affected benefit requests. USCIS recognizes that these actions may result in processing delays; however, the agency has determined that such measures are necessary to ensure national security and public safety and to fully comply with governing law. We will continue to monitor implementation of this policy and will provide updates as they become available.ā€

hello goodbyeJan 27, 2026
@Hope Ilolo From what I’m seeing, this policy initially applies only to the 19 countries that were originally designated as high risk. After that, there was another revision expanding the list to an additional 39 countries, and then a later revision on January 21 that expanded the scope further to a total of 75 countries. Just to better understand your situation, which country are you from that this happened to you?

@Damarling Rios mine is for I-485 not immigrant visa. I’ve been in the US even before the whole policy thing. so rn it’s not only affecting specific people, I think it’s affecting all pending green card applications.

hello goodbyeJan 30, 2026
@Hope Ilolo I am from Colombia šŸ‡ØšŸ‡“ and currently on an Adjustment of Status. I have a friend whose green card was approved, and he is from Brazil, but it has been three weeks since approval and they still have not shipped his card. Weird, right? It seems like they might be holding it back. The same is happening with me my work permit was approved about 10 days ago, and nothing has been shipped or even produced yet.
Hope IloloJan 30, 2026
@Damarling Rios my work permit has been pending since August 26th says case is been reviewed but my Adjustment of status interview was scheduled on December 2nd for January 6th2026 but was canceled on the 22nd of December. I guess we’re all playing the waiting game rn . let’s just hope and pray
