if you’re outside normal processing times and getting no response from uscis - you can submit your request with ombudsman

@ Antom submitted two service requests..one expedite request..congressman inquiry to which they replied background checks pending .lost employment as EAD ended and new offer cannot join till EAD approved..so approached ombudsman finally

you can go to ombudsman now. I did the same because 2 months with congressman still hasn't produced a card. I lost my job too etc sorry you are going through it as well they have a form on then uscis.gov website to fill in and submit for case review

my interview was 13 months ago and sometime ago the USCIS replied same thing about background check. it has been almost two months that the ombudsman sent a request about my case to the USCIS and no response yet.
