Derivative getting greencard before principal Applicant
Is anybody in the same situation? I’m the principal applicant, filed my case , got married and added my spouse afterwards. PD became current this January and her case is approved but mine still remains on “case remains pending, we are temporarily pausing work on your application because an immigrant visa is not immediately available to you”

This actually happened to me too. I started my case in 2021, then everything got delayed because of the pandemic. After things reopened, my wife’s green card was approved way before mine. She’s had hers for about three years now and my case is still pending.
So you’re definitely not alone. Sometimes USCIS processes the derivative first for whatever reason background checks, visa availability timing, or just internal workflow. It doesn’t always make sense, but it does happen.
Hang in there.

@hello goodbye wow 3 years and is still pending? have you discussed this with your lawyer? I was under the impression that the derivative card and principal both should have the same dates for the “GC holder since…” My lawyer told me to give it 30-60 days and if nothing happens will have to do an inquiry.
