FO don’t update status on RFE- it happened to both me and my wife - your case will go direct to approval - without RFE receipt

ours took 4weeks for one - 10 weeks for the other

it depends on what kind of RFE are - medicals cannot be uploaded online

they were approved on November - which took 7 months in total after filing 485

congrats David… u gave very helpful responses to peoples questions. in your case there was no interview right? I just got approved for NIW I-140 and preparing to file I-485 with my spouse.

@Ras - no interview and as I’ve been seeing - in last year and this no interviews for Employment GC…. I recommend you file medicals along i485 to avoid that RFE - it will save you 1month time

okay will surely do that. Do you think this step needs an Attorney? i have gone through the form and it seems self explanatory… my confusion is because i am filing with my spouse if certain specific documents may be required. we are married with two US born kids.

we had 3 us citizen kids also - I prefer to use attorney

hey David, congrats! I had my i140 approved Aug 5, 2021. In Sep, I filled my EAD renewal bc it would expire in Dec 2021 (now I am in the 180 days). All my process (i140, 485, etc) was filled together in Jan 2019. Now, I am really worried to lose my permanent position (been working there since I got my first EAD: for 2 years and 6 months). Neither receive my new EAD nor a RFE for medical (i485). It’s suck.

@David Hey bud, I had great news this week. Tuesday my i765 was approved and USCIS mailed it today. Also, on the same day, they transferred my i485 to NBC. Thank God. Could you help me? Was your case moved to NBC? if yes, when did it happen? I am asking it bc I’ve read here and other communities that NBC is faster (I could see it happens with your timeline too) and I would like to simulate how long it would take to receive RFE for medicals.

@David Hey man, just had an update: I-485 status is now “Request for additional evidence”. The only thing I was thinking is about my wife status “Request for initial evidence”. What is the difference between additional and initial? Tomorrow I will ask Emma to certify they are RFE for medicals. Anyway, thank God. Exactly 30 days after transferred to NBC.
