debt
hey guys, I’m just wondering if having debt affects moving to the US on a cr1? I only ask as I have car payments which I will still be making while being in the US and student loans

as long as you are paying your installments and you have sufficient income as per poverty guidelines you will have no problem.

is that debt for a bank in US or outside US? if it’s outside US it will not impact your case. and when you are outside US your spouse/petitioner will file affidavit of support which if qualifies under poverty guidelines will cover you for financial means required to enter in USA. your home country financial conditions are irrelevant in that case.

my understanding is it has no effect on your case. I’m not sure they even ask that information.
