Contact them as many times as you need to!
So after waiting well over a year, we reached out to see what was up with our i130, and within 2 weeks it was approved.
Today this morning I reached out to the NVC email to see what was up with an interview because we've been waiting 3+ months and from prior research we should've heard back. Sure enough, we got an email this evening with a date for our interview at the beginning of next month!!
I say this to say: email, call, or write as many times as you need to! We pay too much money to be forgotten about!

@Ada M which embassy?
BAYANO PARKERDec 12, 2023
yes I agree... but that is just in case there are any updates but if you call and there is NO updates, you will be added 6 more months on top of the initial times frame. That's what bunch of lawyers told me.

Ada M. kindly share with us the embassy and the NVC email you used to write to them.

did you email uscis for i130 approval?
Bòbò NkìtìDec 12, 2023
@BAYANO PARKER That's a lie. I'll like to know the lawyer(s) that gave you that information so I can go on their pages and demarket them. They are lazy and making excuses for themselves. Calling to make enquiries about your case or expedite it doesn't change your spot in line.

@BAYANO PARKER lawyers are already in the US, you have to do what you have to do. I definitely think if we didn’t reach out we wouldn’t even have an interview scheduled

@Mohammad abu for NVC? I emailed this one NVCExpedite@state.gov and then they told me to fill out the form here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html after filling this out within 8 hrs we received an e-mail for the interview. Good luck!

@dp dp Yes I did the back towards the end of March last year. I went through Emma

@Bòbò Nkìtì We haven’t spoken to our attorney in a couple of months bc he said it was a “waiting game” and we got tired of waiting. Furthermore, why would I need to come on here and lie to strangers? Get a life

what were asking emma for updates on i130? do u remember? i have a hard time getting answers from emma or an agent

@Bee kaila Sydney, also see above comment

@Ada M I think before you attack folks, you should read to understand. I was responding to whoever said enquiries prolongs cases. I actually mentioned the person, so I wonder what the issue is that warrants you telling me to get a life. That's out of pocket!!!!

I also understand some people will have long waiting times no matter what. My husband is originally from Nigeria & so we have people waiting for a while there, but it still wouldn’t hurt to check in every 2-3 months or so, this of course is in my opinion as I am not NOT an attorney.

@Bòbò Nkìtì you’re correct, my bad, I stand corrected. Apologies
Bòbò NkìtìDec 12, 2023
@Ada M Apologies accepted. Congratulations 🎊 on your case! Godspeed in all🙏

@Bòbò Nkìtì you are taking it all wrong what I'm saying. I didn't say you shouldn't call. What I said is you should called just for a reason maybe your case is taking longer than the normal. When you constantly call- like let's say every month for example- and there is NO UPDATE, you add 6 more months for your case to be settle. if you were the next in queue, you will be the last. Myself. I didn't know that until they told me and I don't know why I should be lying. I was in the same case. You will even realized after you called them, you will receive an email that they are looking into your case to find what's going on and if nothing is found, that is what you will get... Your case will push back to 6 months. Because while they are looking at your case, they are pausing others cases. From that perspective, it really make sense.
@Ada M what is the finality? getting your Permanent GC right? so, if you have your Work Permit and can work legally, you just have to move on and calculate in your head when will be your 2 years anniversary and then pray the date to pass and "BIIIMMM" you will have your 10 years and never deal with them again. Sometimes, you have to think wiser than them and let them not fool us.

@BAYANO PARKER Oh my apologies, I didn't call you a liar but the lawyers that gave you that information. So let me explain, I worked as a paralegal for immigration law firm. Folks get frustrated when they wait for long, so when they call lawyers and they know there isn't a way around it, they say what they can to discourage constant calls. If you file a case on March 1st for instance, the only way an April 25th case can go in front of you is if the April case expedited and it was approved. Whether you call 8times with updates or not, your priority date remains March 1st and you will be attended to before a March 5th case. If your case is special however, (court case, missing documents, etc), then your case can be delayed. I still stand by my argument, calling with or without update does not prolong your case
BAYANO PARKERDec 12, 2023
@Bòbò Nkìtì Okay... well, you are also a Paralegal so ... My point is " just move on with your life." Unless you have NO EAD to work, don't kill yourself because of someone's else fault. Rushing those people will also make them sending you non sense stuff you don't want. I have waited more than 2 years and I got the permanent. You guys should just continue to keep updating evidences for every year.
