Combo Card
While we were together and my ex petitioned for me, I received a combo card for 2 years. Following our separation due to abuse, they withdrew the petition, and the combo card was cancelled. I applied under vawa and I received great news that a new card is being produced. I did not concurrently apply for AP. What are the chances this will be a combo card I receive?

it can’t be a combo card if you didn’t apply for 131. Uscis will not send what you did not apply for. Bear in mind that I-765 is just for work authorization while I-131 is for advance parole. You have to submit both applications before they can issue a combo card. According to your write up, the new card update you got is for your vawa and that’s C31 EAD.

if u didn't apply for travel permit, u won't receive one
Shari Oct 18, 2024
@F A thats not a vawa c31 ead that's a co9 ead.

chances are 0 if you haven’t applied.

@Shari it can’t be C09. Did you read where she said she got a good news on her vawa that new card produced? They don’t issue C09 when vawa is approved, it is C31
Shari Oct 19, 2024
@F A reread what she said, she applied under vawa. the case does say i765, a vawa c31 would come from i360

It is in fact C09

@Shari @kanzulu you both are absolutely right. I didn’t check her timeline before I made my comment, I only responded based on what she wrote. Especially the part she mentioned she got the update on her vawa. I know a lot of people here do mix up applications and don’t really know they are all unique regardless if you file them together or separate. if she mentioned she got the update on 765 according to what is on her timeline, I would have known it’s c09. so @kanzulu the update you got was from I-765 which is only EAD. Bear in mind that vawa as you’ve mentioned in your write up is totally different from I-765. That’s why Uscis provides different form for each application. If you want advance parole, you have to put in application for I-131

@blessed & favored if she didn't apply for i131 there's no chance of her getting approved for a combo card or co9p, it's impossible. she will only be issue a EAD card simple

I was asking because my lawyer said it would be a combo card when she was filing. I was skeptical since the i131 wasn’t part of the application for some reason, but thought maybe because I had a combo card on file already, and didn’t have to do biometrics a second time, it would be the same combo card reactivated with a different expiration date.
